  17. If you create a secondary zone and then change that zone to primary, the
  18. registry is not updated to reflect the change. The next time you restart
  19. the DNS server, you receive an error message stating that the primary DNS
  20. address is missing. In this instance the DNS server does not start. Also,
  21. the Cache.dns file may be overwritten with a blank file, causing you to
  22. lose name resolution outside your zone of authority.

  27. The Microsoft DNS Server has been modified to correctly write back the Zone
  28. Type key to reflect the correct role of the zone.
  29.  
  30. Obtain the following fix, or wait for the next Windows NT service pack.

  40. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0.
  41. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested
  42. and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
  43. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft
  44. recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
